• Gun violence is a public health crisis. Guns are the leading cause of death for American children and teens, tearing our families and communities apart. Inaction is unacceptable. We need common sense gun reform measures, such as universal background checks, closing loopholes in the background check system, and implementing waiting periods.

        assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and invest in community-based violence
        prevention programs, mental health support, and crisis response teams.
