Creating Jobs & Supporting Small Business

IMG_0187.jpg

A strong and resilient economy that works for everyone begins with empowering entrepreneurs, supporting local businesses, and investing in job creation and workforce development. Small businesses are the foundation of this economy, driving innovation, creating jobs, and fueling economic opportunities. We must advance policies that provide small business with the resources, support, and opportunities they need to succeed. This includes:

  • Increasing Access to Capital: We must ensure entrepreneurs, particularly those in underserved markets, have the financial resources they need to start and grow their ventures, including small business loans, grants, and other forms of financial assistance

  • Reducing Regulatory Burdens: We need to streamline regulations and reduce unnecessary bureaucratic barriers that hinder small business growth. By cutting red tape and simplifying regulatory processes, we can make it easier for entrepreneurs to navigate the business landscape and focus on innovation and job creation.

  • Promoting Local Economic Opportunities: By collaborating with local and state business groups, economic development agencies and community organizations, we can leverage federal dollars to support infrastructure projects, revitalize commercial districts and attract new businesses to the 10th Congressional District.

  • Investing in Workforce Development: We must prioritize investments in workforce development programs that equip workers with the skills and training needed to succeed in the 21st-century economy. By investing in education, job training, and apprenticeship programs, we can ensure that our workforce remains competitive and adaptable to changing industry demands.

  • Fostering Entrepreneurship and Innovation: By nurturing a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship through incubators and accelerators, we can unleash the creative potential of the 10th Congressional District and drive economic growth.
